New Hampshire Insurance Commissioner Sevigny Nominated for Another Term

New Hampshire Gov. John Lynch has nominated Insurance Commissioner Roger Sevigny to serve another term. His peers in other states have elected Sevigny to become the next president of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. He is the current President-elect of the NAIC and also chairs the NAIC Producer Licensing Working Group, of which PIA is an active member.

Former New Hampshire Gov. Craig Benson first nominated then-Assistant Commissioner Sevigny to replace Insurance Commissioner Paula Rogers in 2003. Prior to joining the insurance department, Sevigny worked in the insurance industry at Travelers Insurance for 30 years.

“Commissioner Sevigny’s dedication to state regulation of insurance is steadfast and his commitment to regulatory modernization that preserves the state system is exemplary,” said PIA National Senior Vice President Patricia A. Borowski. “Roger believes in the superiority of state supervision of insurance and is a leading advocate against efforts to impose federal regulation. We congratulate him on his richly deserved renomination as New Hampshire Insurance Commissioner.”
