PIA National President Robert Page addressed the Louisiana Surplus Lines Association on April 10, 2008, at their annual convention in Biloxi, Mississippi. They were celebrating their 50th Anniversary.
“Anniversaries are important for associations,” Page told the group. “PIA just celebrated its 75th Anniversary in 2006. These kinds of landmarks help remind associations of their missions, and spend some time getting back to their roots. Of course, anniversaries are wonderful reasons to have a party, too. So, thank you for inviting me to your Anniversary!”
President Page provided a report on the Treasury Department’s insurance proposals and elaborated on PIA opposition to them, and our views regarding how regulatory modernization must be accomplished at the state – not the federal – level.
