State legislators from across the United States are set to gather in Napa Valley, California November 9-12 for the annual meeting of the National Conference of Insurance Legislators (NCOIL).

NCOIL’s Subcommittee on Natural Disaster Insurance Legislation will hold a discussion on the proposed NCOIL-NAIC Mega-Catastrophe Plan.  PIA intends to make clear that our position is to support new legislative and regulatory changes to improve federal, state and municipal governments’ funding and execution of their infrastructure, land-use codes and other mitigation responsibilities. NCOIL will also discuss long-term solutions to terrorism insurance and federal insurance regulation. PIA will provide the legislators with our view on these issues.
