“The Incredible Hulk” Files a Mold Lawsuit

When actor Lou Ferrigno played “The Incredible Hulk” on television, there was nothing that could bring him down. Now, Ferrigno says exposure to mold in his Santa Monica, California home caused him and his wife to suffer irreparable lung damage. Jury selection in a lawsuit began March 29 in Los Angeles Superior Court. Ferrigno claims a Mercury General Corp. subsidiary failed to properly inspect and repair a water leak that caused significant mold damage  Attorneys for Mercury countered that it was Ferrigno and his wife who were actually negligent for the damage. Ferrigno -- the youngest-ever winner of the Mr. Universe competition, in which he competed against current California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) -- joins former Tonight Show announcer Ed McMahon among celebrities who have sued their home insurers for mold damage.
