PIA Advises NAIC Anti Fraud Subgroup Redrafting Premium Pass-Through Account Model

PIA and other agent trade association representatives met on February 26 with members of an NAIC Anti Fraud subgroup to edit a proposed model bill for premium-pass through accounts.  As in the past, PIA recommended, if NAIC feels a model is necessary, that NAIC should adopt a model similar to New York and New Hampshire laws, as they have worked well in those states and have not been burdensome on the producers in those states. The subgroup hopes to have a revised draft available to interested parties for comment prior to the quarterly NAIC meetings on March 13-16, 2004.

What It Means to Agents: PIA will continue to be involved in the process to ensure that any proposed model is efficient and is not burdensome on producers.
