AON Executive Chairman Says Don’t Banish Contingents

Rather than banishing contingent commissions industry wide, the insurance industry should focus on full disclosure and transparency, according to Aon Corp. Executive Chairman Patrick Ryan. In an interview with Dow Jones, Ryan said, “We won't try to change the world, but we’d like other companies to become fully transparent and disclose to the client who you work for,” adding if the industry becomes more open, the practice of contingent commissions will naturally fade away over time.
